BURN.INC is one unique blend of a European indie artist (have you guessed? it's &Tilly ^_^) with an emerging South African musician and flutist, MWAFS. Combining world music and alternative EDM influences from MWAFS with Tilly's darker side and love for old Placebo tracks, BURN.INC underlines our damage to the world and sends a powerful message about trying to learn from our mistakes.
We used an opposite kind of approach for the music video and put water in fire (or the other way around? it's hard to say, really) - in pretty words, the modern-day damage #burning to the world vs. an old black and white movie from 1916; the fires burning in us vs. the world underwater. Did you know that #1916's 20 000 leagues under the sea, cuts from which we used in BURN.INC, was the first film ever to use underwater footage? Fascinated as we were with it, we loved the pixelated old-school quality of the the incredible moodiness of Jules Verne's motion picture adaptation. And so this public domain movie starred in BURN-INC alongside our little lighter.
