The story of

Don't Lay on the Floor (DLOTF)

album 8.8 / 2021-08-08
acoustic rock / guitars, bass, drumkit, vocals

Don't lay on the Floor is a song made out of real words T. used in an actual Whatsapp conversation, trying to unfreeze the frozen, move the stuck.. DLOTF is about giving the other strength, about not giving up, about (trying to) not be curling helpless on the floor. It's a lively acoustic rock track that we recorded higher up than originally meant to just to underline a joyful, energetic feeling of the track as well as the message.

"Unfreeze the frozen, move the stuck..."

Don't lay on the Floor was created quite some time ago - during Corona pandemics, actually - and an older video was created to this yet-imperfect song version on the empty shabby stairwell of our apartment building.

& lyrics

Don't lay down
 Don't lay on the floor
Don't get lost in the repeated
Sometimes the first step is the worst

 Ask for a small change
And change what you're asking for
 I ask you to change
You'll get used to changing more

 Give me something
 I see so many reasons
 No more parting
I'll give you all I own
 Just don't give up
 Easy as it goes
Please, don't lay on the floor

 I wish I could help
 But it just gets worse
 Don't give up on me
 By not paying the cost

 Even if so helpless
 Don't damn all the help
 Don't lay in the mess
 Don't lay on the floor

 Give me something
 I see so many reasons
 No more parting
I'll give you all I own
 Just don't give up
 Easy as it goes
Please, don't lay on the floor

 Don't let me down
 Please don't lay down
 Don't let me down
 Don't lay on the floor

 Give me something
 I see so many reasons
 No more parting
I'll give you all I own
 Just don't give up
 Easy as it goes
Please, don't lay on the floor
Please, don't lay on the floor
