Do you know that feeling when you’re so depleted by all the bad stuff that you can’t even find it in yourself to cry anymore? (We honestly hope you don’t, by the way.) That’s what I once wrote a poem about one day. And when I heard Color Theory’s Syntakt (that’s an analog synth) base track, I actually thought of that old poem of mine almost immediately. I rewrote pretty much everything in it for the song, but the vibe stayed… and about 2 or 3 lines from the poem itself were left, pretty much untouched, in the song as well.
Heavy? Well, yes. But there’s still this little nudge reminding you to keep going, to live every moment, because “every life is just a loan” – and one day, we’ll have to give it back.

Hum and groan For any life is just a loan Let me be I can’t be ever sure How to set it free Hear the silence pouring out I cannot rain I cannot rain out loud But main Would be that what isn’t Forgotten bars of an empty prison An empty prison Let me be I can’t be ever sure How to set it free Hear the silence pouring out I cannot rain I cannot rain out loud
