Step into an ethereal realm with In Circles – a mesmerizing blend of art dream pop and cinematic vibes. We worked with multiple layers and harmonies to give it lightness and richness that actually got compared to the greatness of Enya or Sinéad O'Connor, while keeping its own, art-dream pop meets cinematic vibe. We hope it will transport you into dreams and show you the underwater rainbows we tried to depict in the music video.
Combining footage from our little trip to Sweden, the lovely Schönbrunn zoo, and our own bathroom, the watery ambiance of In Circles talks about that circularity of life and death, the changes that always come to a start, and our own repetitive mistakes. You can run, but you will always get back, one way or the other, and even if you fight that "destiny"; that would be the message to embrace in In Circles.
T: "About In Circles… I loved the song from the start. And the start was actually happening in a circle of three, me, Vii and Yan. One evening, we played, and the words, partly written already, came out absolutely naturally into a simple piano melody. And the whole was imperfect but already ethereal in its imperfection… and then the song slept. For more than a year, the song just slept in the drawer until I rediscovered it, and we finished it because it felt like it had to be finished.
And I was told it is a bit longer and not really appealing to an average person, so it probably won’t be received that well. But I love it anyway, and I hope you will too. Sad & true & poetically tangled, In Circles is about the circle of life and that that circle is not that awesome and shiny and with a happy ending, it always ends the same - with an end. It’s still worth walking that circular road, I think."
