There’s so much we carry inside. So many thoughts we don’t say out loud. Sometimes you protect the other person by not sharing everything. Sometimes you protect yourself. I wrote Life That Can’t Be Shared about… love, that loving someone while realizing that maybe the version of the story you hoped for, or others would expect, just isn’t going to happen. Not because the love isn’t real – but because life doesn’t always line up the way we want it to, or you see the end wouldn’t be good, despite the love.
LTCBS is… indie dream folk, mellow and gentle, but not dark, not really – more like sitting with something bittersweet and accepting it. It’s full of cinematic gentleness and emotional restraint – the kind of song that holds back more than it reveals. But that’s also what makes it rich.
So… Yeah. It’s a song about love. Just not the fairytale version.
